Ross was born 79 years ago in Elma Township, a son of the late Bill and Minnie (Barron) Hurst. He was a member of St. Alban's and St. David's Anglican Church, Atwood. He was formerly of RR 2 Atwood and was born 81 years ago in Listowel, a son of the late Glenn and Alma (Forrest) Burke. Bill was a member of Atwood Presbyterian Church where he had served as Elder and Clerk of Session. He was a member of the Independent Order of Oddfellows Atwood Lodge No. 332 and a life member of the Avon Lodge No. 41. Bill also served as a Director of Elma Mutual Insurance. Beloved husband of Daryl (McAllister) Burke whom he married in 1976. Dear brother of Helen Hanna of Listowel.     April 15, 1916 to December 21, 2013 Pearl Upper passed away peacefully at Caressant Care Nursing Home, Listowel on Saturday December 21, 2013 at the age of 97. Pearl was a member of Atwood Presbyterian Church, a life member of the Presbyterian Womens Missionary Society, a charter and life member of the Bruce Chapter Order of the Eastern Star Kincardine and past Noble Grand of Huron Star Rebekah Lodge Ripley. Beloved wife of the late John Upper who predeceased her in 1991. Loving mother of John and Marilyn of Ottawa. Special grandma of Tracey Beaupre and her husband Todd, and Sheri Upper and her husband Neil Wiltshire. Pearl experienced much love from two great grandchildren, Claire and Cameron Beaupre. Fondly remembered by nieces and nephews. Pearl was the last surviving member of her family being predeceased by her brothers George and his wife June Dahmer, Alfred and his wife Dorothy Dahmer and her sister Margaret and her husband Lloyd Sage. Annie was a member of Atwood United Church and a former member of the Atwood Chapter of the Rebekah Lodge No. 343. Annie was the beloved wife of the late Jack Sanders who predeceased her in 1986; the loving mother of Cam and Joanne Sanders of Newry and the late Cheryl (2006) and David (1983) Markle. She was the special grandmother of Jason and Donna Markle of Barbados and their children Ariana and Sierra; Geoffrey and Maria Markle of Barbados and their children Scott and Adam; Christopher and Marie Markle of Australia; Ryan and Jackie Sanders of Wroxeter and their children Paige and Tayt; and Carrie Sanders and Matt Gardner of Cambridge and their son Fischer. She will also be remembered by her sisters Marion Wood of Stratford, Shirley Rea of Listowel, her brother Len and his wife Bernie Campbell of Kitchener, sisters-in-law Charlotte Stecho, Peggy Clarke, Mary Matlock all of Kitchener and by many nieces & nephews.     November 21, 1924 to April 7, 2008 Ed passed away suddenly at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Monday April 7, 2008. He resided in Listowel and was born 83 years ago in Widdifield Ontario. Ed was a retired Air Traffic Controller with the R.C.A.F., a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Listowel and the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 259 Listowel. He was an active member of the Listowel Golf Club and a volunteer with the North Perth Seniors. Ed was the beloved husband of Frances (Rocher) Rowland whom he married in 1944; the loving father of Michael and Gayle of Thunder Bay, Nancy and Jim Zidar of Stony Plain Alberta and the special grandpa of Bruce and Lesley and Douglas and Connie all of Alberta. He is also survived by his step-mother Hilda Beech of Strathroy. Ed was predeceased by his father George, his mother Rene, his sister Theresa and his brothers Roy and Orval. As per Ed's wishes, there will be no funeral home visitation. A memorial service to celebrate Ed's life will be held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Listowel on Thursday April 10, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Ralph Dwarika officiating. Loving mother of Jim and Jean of Listowel, Bill and Shirley of Point Clark, Carolyn Yundt of Stratford, Larry and Jane of Miller Lake, Pat and Marie of Sauble Beach. Spending time with her family was most important to her. A large part of her life was spent managing the family farm during her husband Norman's illness and after his death in 1977. Loving mother of Bill and Karen of Brantford, Ron and Bev of Fergus, Marie and John McGuire of Goderich, Jim and Donna of Atwood. Special grandma of Allison, Kris, Susan and fiance Will, Rhonda and Richard and their son Landon, Amy and Bryan, Andrew, Shawn and Caetie, Jennifer and Matt.
