Dorothy passed away peacefully at Knollcrest Lodge, Milverton on Tuesday May 19, 2009. She was formerly of Atwood and was born 87 years ago in Stratford, a daughter of the late Arthur and Amelia (Miller) Sanderson. Dorothy was a member of Atwood United Church. Spending time with her family was most important to her. A large part of her life was spent managing the family farm during her husband Norman's illness and after his death in 1977. Loving mother of Bill and Karen of Brantford, Ron and Bev of Fergus, Marie and John McGuire of Goderich, Jim and Donna of Atwood. Special grandma of Allison, Kris, Susan and fiance Will, Rhonda and Richard and their son Landon, Amy and Bryan, Andrew, Shawn and Caetie, Jennifer and Matt. Fondly remembered by her sisters Joyce Sanderson of St. Thomas, Iris and her husband Bill Kennedy of Hanover and by many nieces & nephews. She will be missed by her loving caregivers at Knollcrest Lodge. Predeceased by her brothers Ronald, Harry and his wife Olga and four siblings in infancy. Dorothy's family invites relatives and friends to share their memories at the Brenneman Funeral Home 141 John Street, Atwood (519-356-2382), on Wednesday May 20, 2009 from 7-9 p.m. where the funeral service to celebrate Dorothy's life will be held on Thursday May 21, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Michelle Owens officiating. Interment to follow in Elma Centre Cemetery, Atwood.
