Bill Burke

August 27, 1928 to January 10, 2010

Bill Burke of Listowel, passed away peacefully at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Sunday January 10, 2010. He was formerly of RR 2 Atwood and was born 81 years ago in Listowel, a son of the late Glenn and Alma (Forrest) Burke. Bill was a member of Atwood Presbyterian Church where he had served as Elder and Clerk of Session. He was a member of the Independent Order of Oddfellows Atwood Lodge No. 332 and a life member of the Avon Lodge No. 41. Bill also served as a Director of Elma Mutual Insurance. Beloved husband of Daryl (McAllister) Burke whom he married in 1976. Dear brother of Helen Hanna of Listowel. Fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews Doug and Vickie Hanna of Gravenhurst, Ron and Brenda Hanna of Milverton, Pauline Hanna of Stratford, Diane and Jack Gabel of RR 1 Listowel and his cousin Bob and his wife Isobel Burke of London. Predeceased by his brother-in-law Elwood Hanna. Bill's family invites relatives and friends to share their memories at the Atwood Presbyterian Church on Wednesday January 13, 2010 from 1:30 p.m. until time of the funeral service to celebrate his life at 2:30 p.m. with Rev.
