During his life, Bobby developed deep connections with his friends within the Atwood/Listowel community. He valued these friendships very much and enjoyed the kinship provided by them. They provided a “social family” for him that coexisted with his biological family roots. Being a creature of routine, Bobby would visit his comrades daily at Ralph’s Service Centre in Atwood and he was a proud member the Listowel Legion. It is certain that his banter and big laugh will be missed in many of the local meeting places where he was often found with a beer, a pool cue or a dart, happily engaged in a friendly, or sometimes very competitive game. Bobby enjoyed gadgets and technology. He was proud of his cars. He had a soft heart for his niece and nephews. He lived life freely and independently. He will be deeply missed by all who love him. He enjoyed quilting for missions and charities, woodworking, playing cards with friends from Monkton, had a keen interest in forestry and was always trying new farming techniques. January 1, 1921 to October 16, 2017 died at Nithview Community on Monday October 16, 2017 of age related illness. Born in Wellesley Township to Joseph R. and Mary (Nafziger) Erb. She was a life partner in dairy farming with her late husband Gordon (1982) in Perth County where they raised their family, Glennis (Mark Yantzi), James (Rosella Gerber), Murray (Marilyn Roes), Merlin (Angela Kindler), Paul (Charlene Martin) and Gloria (Dale Freeman). She will be missed by grandchildren Michael Yantzi (Marsha Taylor), James Yantzi, Rebecca Minor (Patrick), Shannon Leis, Maria Leis, David Leis, Scott Leis (Nicole) Victoria (Alex) Leis, Erin Freeman, Alexander Freeman (Racheal), Nickolas Freeman (Kristen) and great grandchildren Laine, Lexi, Liam, Gracelyn, Noa and Amos. Also surviving are brother-in-law and sister-in-law Omer and Erma Leis and many nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving member of her family being predeceased by her sister Frieda (John G. Erb), and brothers Ervin (Erma, Mary Gingerich) and Joe (Mabel). Also predeceased by in-laws Leroy and Vera Leis and Marion Bender Leis. Marie had an amazing capacity to remember names and faces of those she met throughout her lifetime even in these later years with dementia. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, quilting and for some years worked as a Red Cross Homemaker. A special thanks to the staff at Nithview Community for their care and compassion shown to our mother in these later years. Marie was a lifelong member of Maple View Mennonite Church in Wellesley Township where a private family burial will take place in the adjoining cemetery.
