of Kitchener, formerly of Listowel passed away peacefully at her residence in Highland Place on Sunday January 14, 2018 at the age of 86. Eileen was a member of Atwood United Church. She enjoyed quilting, making crafts and reading, but loved the time spent with her family. Loving mother of Twila (predeceased 2016) (Dan Allen) and Tim Smith (Rose). Special grandma of Scott (Kelly), Connie (Paul), Greg, Becky (Will), Stacey (A.J). and great grandma of Sarah, Brooklyn, Kaitlyn, Phillip and Kirsten. Fondly remembered by step-children Nancy Sinnamon (Wayne), Jim Nethercott (Christina), Jeff Nethercott (Marie Claude), step-grandchildren Tyler, Natasha (Chris), Ryan, Noah, Adam and Clara, brother-in-law Wallace McKee, sister-in-law Myrtle Nethercott, the residents and staff at Highland Place where Eileen resided for nearly two years, and many dear friends. Predeceased by her parents Gordon and Connie (Reddon) Rea, her first husband Ken Smith, son Douglas (in infancy), her sisters Verda Helgerman (Ed), Marjorie (in infancy), brother Roy (in infancy), her parents-in-law Hugh and Agnes Smith, sisters and brothers-in-law Marion McKee, Mac and Marjorie Smith, Jim and Violet Smith. Also predeceased by her second husband Ken Nethercott, step-son John Nethercott and brother-in-law Roy Nethercott. In keeping with Eileen’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at Atwood United Church on Saturday January 20, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Colin Snyder officiating. Spring interment in Molesworth Cemetery.
