of Lion’s Head, formerly of Atwood, passed away unexpectedly at her residence on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at the age of 65. Barb was a member of the Lion’s Head book club, enjoyed photography, volunteering at Golden Dawn Seniors Home and attending yoga classes. She also enjoyed travelling and walking outdoors with her companion and guide Jemma who will truly miss her. She was a fun-loving people person and was happiest when surrounded by family and friends. She loved life and lived her life to the fullest. Every sunset was enjoyed. Beloved wife of Dave Smith whom she married in 1971. Loving mother of Christa Beyer (Tim) and Steven Smith (Stephanie). Special grandma of Sophie, Lily, Blake and Evan. Cherished daughter of Marie (Debus) Schade. Sister of Ken Schade and Brian Schade (Pauline). Fondly remembered by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Mary Eckensviller (Ross), Elaine Foerster (Luke), Don Smith (Judy) and by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by her father Norman Schade, parents-in-law Ossie and Edith Smith, sister-in-law Dorothy Schade and brother-in-law Tom Foerster. Relatives and friends are invited to share their memories at the Elma Memorial Community Centre, Main Street, Atwood, on Friday, February 2 from 3 to 8 p.m. where the funeral service to celebrate Barb’s life will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Ralph Dwarika officiating.
