G. Rae Thompson

April 18, 1936 to November 1, 2017

formerly of Atwood, passed away at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Wednesday November 1, 2017 at the age of 81. Rae was an associate member of the Royal Canadian Legion Listowel Branch 259. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing goalie for his hockey teams, baseball and crokinole. Father of Ross Thompson (Sharon Stephens) of Rosseau and grandfather of Ashly Thompson (Paul Risto). Brother of Pauline Price and partner Jene Krop of Victoria BC. Fondly remembered by his special friend Joyce Raycraft of Atwood and her family, the extended Graul family and Ed Price. Predeceased by his wife Janet (Graul) Thompson (1997) and his parents Oscar and Elsie (Marks) Thompson. Relatives and friends are invited to share their memories at the Brenneman Funeral Home, 141 John Street, Atwood (519-356-2382), on Monday November 6 from 4 - 8 p.m. where the funeral service to celebrate his life will be held on Tuesday November 7, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Ernie Naylor officiating. Interment in Elma Centre Cemetery, Atwood.
