Evelyn was a member of Atwood Presbyterian Church where she was a life member of the Women's Missionary Society. She was a former member of the Maple Leaf Women's Institute and enjoyed needlework when relaxing. Beloved wife of the late Weldon Nichol who predeceased her in 2006.     July 20, 1931 to November 9, 2012 Lloyd Smart passed away peacefully at his residence in Knollcrest Lodge, Milverton on Friday November 9, 2012 at the age of 81. Lloyd was a member of Heritage Mennonite Church, Millbank. He enjoyed singing and song leading as music was a big part of his life. Lloyd also enjoyed traveling and socializing with his Christian community of friends who were extremely important to him. Lloyd worked in the medical profession where he met his wife Lydia over 50 years ago. He always looked forward to spending time with his family and extended foster children family. Beloved husband of the late Lydia (Overholt) Smart who predeceased him in 2005. Loving father of Russell Smart and Lia Gebremicael of Stratford, Sherry Smart of Milverton and Connie Walters of Stratford. Special grandpa of Brandon, Amy, Crystal, Dylan, Violet, Jadyn, Deanna, Dustin, Trevor, Kimberly and great grandpa of Jade, Zoe, Amberlee and Jennifer. Beloved husband of Edith (Farr) Partridge whom he married in 1953. Loving father of Russell and Nancy Partridge of Thedford, Arthur and Laurie Partridge of Waterloo, Richard and Lorie Partridge of Chesley, Lisa and Alex Millar of Waterloo. Special grandpa of several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Fondly remembered by many nieces & nephews.   • John (Jack) Ballantyne

    October 23, 1927 to March 20, 2009 Jack passed away peacefully at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Friday March 20, 2009. He resided at RR#1 Atwood and was born 81 years ago in Elma Township, a son of the late John and Alice (Coghlin) Ballantyne. Jack was a member of Atwood Presbyterian Church where he served on Session and the Board of Managers. He was on the Elma Centre Cemetery Board for over 30 years serving most of those as chairman. Jack also served on the Sire selection committee for the Ayrshire Breeders of Canada. His passion for horses was evident by breeding, raising and racing them for most of his life. Jack was the beloved husband of Jean (Bradshaw) Ballantyne whom he married in 1952; the loving father of John of Listowel, Diane and Doug Buchanan of Fergus; special grandpa of Stacy, Matthew, Ashley, Jeremy and Heather and great-grandpa of Natasha, Griffin and Austin. He will be fondly remembered by his sisters Agnes Harrow and Jean Ballantyne both of Listowel, sister-in-law Ethel McMaster of Listowel, brother-in-law Roy Bradshaw of Monkton, Laura, Tiffany, Dean and many nieces and nephews. Jack was predeceased by his twin brother and brother Gordon, both in infancy, sister Annie Gould and her husband Harry, brother Robert and his wife Ann, brother-in-law Bill Harrow, son-in-law John Gray and great-grandson Alexander Gray. Bill resided in Atwood and was a member of Atwood United Church. He farmed his whole life and enjoyed hunting and bowling. Bill was well known for his lengthy and interesting stories. Beloved husband of the late Erna (Schalk) Lucas who predeceased him in 2001. Loving father of Jim and Bernice Lucas of RR2 Atwood. Special grandpa of Laura, Jason and Maria Lucas. Madge was a member of Atwood Presbyterian Church, a former member of the Women's Missionary Society and Maple Leaf Women's Institute. She was an avid supporter of the Leprosy Foundation and spent many hours knitting sweaters for children in developing countries. Beloved wife of the late Gordon Dickson who predeceased her in 1993. Loving mother of Don and his wife Sandy of Collingwood, Janice Purvis of Waterloo and Ross Dickson of Saskatchewan. Predeceased by his sisters Ruth and her husband Joe Halerich, Marion and her first husband Chris Thedorff and her second husband Stan Lennox, his brothers Charles Mann and Harry Mann, and brother-in-law Graham Geiger.     February 6, 1943 to September 24, 2013 Bob peacefully passed away after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Predeceased by his parents Jack and Dorothy (Tindall) Hamilton, his brother Clifford in infancy, brother-in-law Bob Mathers, sister-in-law Laurie Hamilton and brother Barry Hamilton. Survived by his daughter TammyLynn (Chris) Campbell, grand children Stefanie and Anna; son Michael (Marcia) Hamilton, grand children Cole and Lucy. Also survived by his sisters and brothers Judy (Bill) Dunnell, Doug Hamilton, Marg (Frank) Young, Gus (Janine) Hamilton, David Hamilton along with many nieces, nephew and great nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind no better friends than Carman and Ruth Ruppel. Bob was a gentle soul known for his kindness, big smile and love of storytelling. He loved to fish, work with wood and hunt for treasure. Heartfelt thanks goes out to brother Doug, Carman and Ruth, and Dr. Fil Incitti for taking care over- and -above of Dad. He resided in Wellesley and was formerly of Millbank. Ed was born 74 years ago in Wellesley Township, a son of the late Clayton and Magdalena (Gerber) Leis. He was a member of Poole Mennonite Church where he served as Elder, Sunday School Superintendent and teacher. Ed blessed his church family with his musical talent as song leader and musician. Beloved husband of Lydiann (Zehr) Leis whom he married in 1956. Loving father of Doug and Cheryl of Wiarton, Judy and Tim Yantzi of RR#2 Tavistock, Rob and Brenda of RR#1 Newton, Val and Robert Bender of RR#2 Wellesley, Don and Julie of Wellesley, Sherry and Metaxas Makedos of RR#2 Tavistock.
