William (Bill) Lucas

November 12, 1928 to January 19, 2013

Tragically, as the result of a car accident, Bill passed away at Victoria Hospital, London on Saturday January 19, 2013 at the age of 84. Bill resided in Atwood and was a member of Atwood United Church. He farmed his whole life and enjoyed hunting and bowling. Bill was well known for his lengthy and interesting stories. Beloved husband of the late Erna (Schalk) Lucas who predeceased him in 2001. Loving father of Jim and Bernice Lucas of RR2 Atwood. Special grandpa of Laura, Jason and Maria Lucas. Brother of Annie Briscoe of California and brother-in-law of Cor Schalk of Milverton, Willa Ament of Listowel, Gerard and Edith Schalk of Listowel. Fondly remembered by many nieces & nephews. Predeceased by his parents Lorne and Muriel (Ducklow) Lucas, his sister Catherine and her husband Roy Moore, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Hank and Janet Schalk, Joyce Schalk and Gordon Ament. Bill's family invites relatives and friends to share their memories at the Brenneman Funeral Home, 141 John Street, Atwood (519-356-2382), on Wednesday January 23 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. where the funeral service to celebrate his life will be held on Thursday January 24, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Michelle Owens officiating. Interment in Elma Centre Cemetery, Atwood.
