Melissa Hahn

February 4, 1975 to February 3, 2017

passed away peacefully at her residence RR 3 Monkton on Friday February 3, 2017 one day before her 42nd birthday. Melissa was a dialysis patient at Stratford General Hospital for twelve years. She will be remembered by everyone for her determination to live through one crisis after another. She taught everyone around her to live in the moment. Melissa enjoyed many things in life – family celebrations and attending her brother’s midget hockey games. Faith, family, friends and her love of music fulfilled Melissa’s life. Cherished daughter of Bruce and Diane (Metzger) Hahn. Dear sister of Darrick Hahn (Jane Barkley), Bill Hahn (Jennifer MacNeil), Pam Brame (Trevor), Charlene (Punk) Hahn, Adam Hahn (Megan Weitzel), Christopher Smith. Fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews Noah, Mira, Eadie, Kaden, Ashlyn, Jimmy and Owen. Also remembered by special friends Aaron Smith, Lisa Satchell, Heidi Long and Mary Ellen Ropp and her aunts, uncles, cousins, neighbours and friends. Predeceased by her grandparents William and Doris Hahn and Albert Metzger and Dorothy Foell. Relatives and friends are invited to share their memories at the Brenneman Funeral Home, 141 John Street, Atwood (519-356-2382), on Tuesday February 7 from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. with parish prayers at 2 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, Kinkora on Wednesday February 8, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior. Father Clare Coleman officiating. Cremation to follow with spring interment in Macton Cemetery. Melissa’s family is forever thankful to her International Family, Listowel Friendship Club, Stratford General Hospital Dialysis Unit and their volunteers and Melissa’s foster siblings for giving her community.
