Christina Victoria Kenny

August 19, 1969 to January 25, 2017

Christina Victoria Kenny, passed away of viral meningitis at her residence in Calgary on January 25, 2017. Beloved daughter of Clare and Stirling Kenny, twin sister of Mark Kenny (wife Jennifer) and aunt of Lauren Lee Kenny, all of Guelph, sister of Brent Kenny (wife Danielle) and aunt of Grace Katharine Kenny, all of Toronto. She was predeceased by her sister, Katharine (Katie) Kenny. Vikki attended Avon Public School and Stratford Central. She always had wonderful memories of growing up in Stratford and spending every summer at the family cottage in Oakwood Park, Grand Bend, where, for many years she enjoyed working at J Dee’s Summerhouse. After high school she spent two years as an au pair living in Oldenburg, Germany, followed by a year in Paris. After graduating from college, she served as a Master Corporal in the Canadian Armed Forces, for ten years at CFB Borden near Barrie, then three years in Edmonton in the Military Police. In 2013 she transferred from the Regular Forces to the Reserve Force. She then moved to Calgary when she was employed by the Canadian Corps of Commissionaires for Southern Alberta, and also worked at the Calgary Drop-In and Rehabilitation Society. She missed Ontario and wanted to move back to be closer to family and friends. Vikki was to arrive shortly to be Godmother for her new niece, Grace Katharine Kenny. Vikki had the most amazing blue eyes and always lit up every room with that wonderful smile. She loved animals and walked dogs for the Humane Society and always had a cat for a companion. She will be sorely missed by her many friends here in Ontario and in Edmonton and Calgary. Cremation has taken place in Calgary. A private family service will be held at Immaculate Conception Church in Stratford. A celebration of Vikki’s life will take place at a later date in the summer, at the family cottage in Oakwood Park, Grand Bend, at which time her ashes will be committed to the family garden alongside those of her sister Katie.
