June 25, 1935 to March 26, 2012 Gordon E. Martin, of Listowel, passed away after a battle with cancer, at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Monday March 26, 2012 at the age of 76. He was born in Elma Township on June 25, 1935 a son of the late Austin and Eva (Hudson) Martin. Survived by his sisters Aldean Montgomery of Listowel, Faye Peelar of Barrie and his brother Jim and his wife Lea Martin of RR4 Listowel. Fondly remembered by many nieces & nephews. Predeceased by his brothers Donald and Lincoln and his sisters Margaret Beth, Leona and Mildred. In keeping with Gord's wishes, cremation has taken place. Burial in Elma Centre Cemetery at a later date. Fern was a member of John Wesley United Church, Sault Ste. Marie and a life member of the Order of the Eastern Star Nokomis Chapter. Beloved wife of the late Harry Manson who predeceased her in 1995. Loving mother of Darlene Rains of Ethel, Bob and Fran Manson of Sault Ste. Marie. Special grandma of Jennifer and Steve Cochrane of Ethel, Andy and Twyla Rains of Stratford, Jeff and Suzanne Manson of Sault Ste. Marie, Stefani and Mike Bouchard of Blind River, fourteen great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. Fondly remember by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Archibald and Zeatha (MacIntyre) McLean and her son-in-law Raymond Rains. Fern was the last surviving member of her family being predeceased by five sisters and three brothers. In keeping with Fern's wishes, cremation has taken place. Hanna was a 3 year Powder Puff Champion at the Acton-Ospringe Speedway and will be remembered as Hot-Rod Hanna. She was a former member of the Independent Order of Foresters. Beloved wife of David Cleland whom she married in 1944. Loving mother of Barry of Bancroft, Lorraine Cleland-Renaud of Kitchener, Blaine (deceased 1979) and Bill and Karen of Buckhorn. Cherished grandma of Che and Helen and children Damien, Megan and Kali; Devin and Kim and daughter Adele; Jeff and Anita and children Alicia, Sara, Marcus and Jason; David and Mia and children Jem and Persephone; and special grandma of Will and Jennifer. Dear sister of Esther Prince of Bancroft and sister-in-law of Phyllis Jacklynn of Kitchener. Fondly remembered by Linda and Keith Jacob and many other nieces, nephews and cousins. March 13, 1953 to February 12, 2012 Diane Dietrich, of RR3 Monkton, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer, at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Sunday February 12, 2012 at the age of 58. Diane was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Monkton, where she spent many hours volunteering at church events, teaching Sunday School and filling the role of church secretary. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, canning but most of all enjoyed the time spent with her family and her grandchildren. Beloved wife of Terry Dietrich whom she married in 1979. Loving mother of Pam and Larry Stewart of Fullarton, Lisa and Jamie Gibbings of Mitchell, Bill and Erika Dietrich of Atwood, Brian Dietrich and Terri-Lyn Dietrich both at home. May 16, 1917 to December 7, 2011 Carl Alfred Ruppel, of Palmerston, passed away peacefully at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Wednesday December 7, 2011 at the age of 94. United again with his loving wife Lloye Ruppel who predeceased him in 1999. Sadly missed by nephews Neil McDonald (Chong Huang) of Kitchener, David Linton of BC, the Adams family of Palmerston and many dear friends. Carl was a World War II Veteran of the 28th Field Ambulance and served on the Lady Nelson Hospital Ship from July 15th 1942-January 26th 1946. He was also a devoted parishioner of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Listowel. Predeceased by his parents John and Ida (Lehman) Ruppel. In keeping with Carl's wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or funeral service. A private graveside service will be held at Fairview Cemetery Listowel.
