December 16, 1925 to May 10, 2016 Jean McNaughton – formerly of Atwood, passed away peacefully at Caressant Care Nursing Home, Listowel on Tuesday May 10, 2016 at the age of 90. Jean was a member of Atwood United Church and a former member of the Listowel Chapter of the Rebekah Lodge. She was well known for operating Jean’s Snack Bar for 29 years. Beloved wife of the late Harold McNaughton who predeceased her in 2007. Step-mother of Glenn (Ada) McNaughton. Sister-in-law of Anna Blatchford. August 22, 1928 to May 2, 2016 Elwood James (Pat) Wilson – of Route 2 Atwood, passed away peacefully at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Monday May 2, 2016 at the age of 87. Pat was a member of Atwood United Church, past chairman of the Board of Elma Centre Cemetery and a member of the Atwood Mens Club for 30 years. He enjoyed woodworking and spending time with his family. Pat played bagpipes with the Listowel Legion Pipe Band for over 60 years. Beloved husband of Ferne (McNeilly) whom he married in 1957. Loving father of Ron and Debbie, Don and Leanne, Karen and Dave Schmidt. Cherished grandpa of Amanda, Becky, Terri and friend Jeff, Cory, Kelsey and Shelby. Dear brother-in-law of Irene Wilson, Elma and Adrian Konings and Doris McNeilly. Fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews. December 5, 1946 to April 20, 2016 Reinhold Gerlach – of Brunner, passed on to be with his Lord and Saviour on Wednesday April 20, 2016 at Sakura House, Woodstock after a long struggle with ALS. He was born December 5, 1946 in Gronau, Germany and immigrated to Canada in 1951. Reinhold was a member of Poole Mennonite Church where he shared his song leading talent, participated in various singing groups and taught Sunday School. He enjoyed the mechanical and welding aspect of automobile restoration, photography, reading and his 28+ years in the printing industry. Rein courageously fought the last years with ALS which robbed him of physical health, but his love for God infused him with joy till his journey’s end. Though he could not speak, his eyes and smile spoke volumes. Rein lived life with fearless determination to succeed at his various interests through experimentation and research. His biggest accomplishment was being faithful Beloved husband of Connie (Musselman) Gerlach for 25 exciting years. Dear brother of Herbert and Edith Gerlach, Elinor and Eric Tuer. Fondly remembered by his father-in-law Clayton F. March 28, 1951 to March 26, 2016 Beverley (Bev) Acheson – of Monkton passed away peacefully as a result of a stroke with his family by his side at Stratford General Hospital on Saturday March 26, 2016, two days before his 65th birthday. Bev was a licensed mechanic and farming was his hobby. He was a former volunteer firefighter with the Monkton Fire Department for over 15 years. Lifelong friend and beloved husband of Wilma (Hymers) Acheson whom he married in 1978. Loving father of Kevin (Cathy). Cherished grandfather of Jevin Acheson-Clark (Lindsey), Jody, Michael and great grandfather of Ryker and Ryla Wilson. Remembered by his sister Denise Acheson, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Donna Bauer (Mervyn), Dina Patterson (Ken), Wendal Hymers (Susan), Walter Hymers (Sandy), John Hymers (Dianne), his two half-sisters Cindy and Sherry, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. December 5, 1952 to March 11, 2016 Wilfred Yantzi – of Poole, with his wife by his side, took Jesus’ hand and passed away peacefully at Stratford General Hospital on Friday March 11, 2016 at the age of 63. Wilf’s family wish to express their appreciation to the family who graciously donated their loved one’s lungs in order for him to receive a double lung transplant in 2005. This allowed him 11 more years with his beloved wife Marlene (Ropp) whom he married in 1975 and his loving children Rochelle and Bruce Langlands, Jason and Jenni Yantzi and Renee Yantzi. It also gave his grandchildren Riley, Alexis, Austin, Dustyn, Zachary, Liam and Megan special time with their Papa. Wilf’s brother Marvin is thankful for the time they spent together on the farm while he was still able to enjoy tinkering and fixing farm machinery. Wilf was a faithful member of Poole Mennonite Church where he held many positions over the years, most recently as Elder. Fondly remembered by Marlene’s family, Rosemary Stein, Carol and Owen Cook, Willard and Mary Ropp, step-mother Mary (Schultz) Ropp and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by his parents William and Vera (Schultz) Yantzi, father and mother-in-law Stanley and Leona Ropp, and brother-in-law Warren Stein. Alfred was formerly of Milverton and was a faithful member of Poole Mennonite Church where he served on various committees. He was secretary of Son Light Missions for many years and served on many agricultural boards. Alfred had a passion for family genealogy compiling two family books. Beloved husband of Laura (Roes) Kipfer with whom he celebrated 70 years of marriage. Loving father of Lloyd and Barb Kipfer, Doreen and Don Roth. January 27, 1929 to January 20, 2016 Reginald Chislett – passed away peacefully at his residence in Ritz Lutheran Villa, Mitchell on Wednesday January 20, 2016, one week short of his 87th birthday. Reginald was retired from the Royal Canadian Air Force where he served as a flight engineer on the Hercules Aircraft. Beloved husband of Margaret (Hawkins) Chislett whom he married in 1954. Loving father of Doug Chislett and Debra Woodske of Sherwood Park, Alberta, Dodi and Grant Morgan of Listowel, Bill and Leslie Chislett of Smithville. Special grandpa of James Morgan, Jessica and Mike Carter and great grandpa of Jimmy and Annabelle. Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and friends.
