of Caressant Care Retirement Home, Listowel, formerly of Newry, passed away peacefully on Friday July 6, 2018 at Listowel Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. Ferne was a lifelong member of the Atwood United Church, the Atwood U.C.W. and the Atwood quilters. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren’s sporting events and celebrated with them every milestone and accomplishment, instilling in them a strong sense of family values. Beloved wife and best friend of 59 years of the late Elwood (Pat) Wilson who predeceased her in 2016. Lovingly remembered by her children Ron and his wife Debbie, Don and his wife Leanne, Karen Schmidt and her husband David and her treasured grandchildren Amanda, Becky, Terri and her friend Jeff, Cory, Kelsey and her friend Brennan, and Shelby. Dear sister of Elma Konings (Adrian), Irene Wilson and sister-in-law of Doris McNeilly. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents David and Ada (Kitchen) McNeilly, her brother Bill, brothers and sisters-in-law George Wilson, Dorothy Wilson, Beth Wilson, Elgin and Marguerite Wilson. Relatives and friends are invited to share their memories at the Brenneman Funeral Home, 141 John Street, Atwood (519-356-2382), on Sunday July 8 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where the funeral service to celebrate Ferne’s life will be held on Monday July 9, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Angie Lannin officiating. Interment in Elma Centre Cemetery, Atwood.
