Robert (Bob) passed away at Stratford General Hospital on Thursday May 15, 2008. He resided at R.R. #2 Atwood and was born 67 years ago in Listowel. Bob was a member of Donegal United Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, tinkering with small engines, playing cards, but most of all enjoyed spending time with and teasing his grandchildren.
Bob was the beloved husband of Joan (Maurer) MacDonald whom he married in 1966; the loving father of Crystal (Toad) Schmidt and Mike Vader, Terry (Mouse) and Leanne MacDonald all of Listowel and special grandpa of Vanessa, Jessica, Mac, Taylor and Wade. He was the dear son of Dolly (Hilson) MacDonald and brother of Bill and wife Pat MacDonald all of Listowel. Bob will also be remembered by brothers-in-law and sister-in-law John and Donna Maurer of Alma, Jim Maurer of Elmira and by many nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by his father Watt MacDonald and his brother Don. As per Bob's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held at Donegal Cemetery on Saturday May 24, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Michelle Owens officiating.
