of Listowel, passed away peacefully at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Friday August 3, 2018 at the age of 91. Vern enjoyed spending time with his family and had a passion for farming. Beloved husband of the late Doreen (Smith) Willoughby who predeceased him in 1998. Loving father of Verna Hart (Louie), Carol Davidson, Shiela King (Eric), and Bill Willoughby (Heather Hogan). Special grandpa of Michelle (Frank), Susan (John), Andrea (Derek), Jeremy, Adam and great-grandpa of Trent, Owen, Mara and Alice. Brother of Eileen Bennett (Bruce) and Ken Willoughby (Pat). Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews and the extended Smith family. Predeceased by his parents Bill and Mabel (Clarke) Willoughby and son-in-law Len Davidson. Relatives and friends are invited to share their memories at the Brenneman Funeral Home, 141 John Street, Atwood (519-356-2382), on Tuesday August 7 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where the funeral service to celebrate Vern’s life will be held on Wednesday August 8, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Charmila Ireland officiating. Interment in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Ethel.
