Nelson Hanna

August 8, 1925 to June 27, 2016

Nelson Hanna – of London, formerly of Route 1 Atwood, passed away peacefully at his residence on Monday June 27, 2016 at the age of 90. Nelson enjoyed dancing, was a hunter, trapper and fisherman. He was a lifetime member of the Huron County Trappers Association and received an award from the Ministry of Natural Resources for his co-operation in the Rabies Research Program. Beloved husband of the late Lillian (McCourt) Hanna who predeceased him in 2005. Loving father of Louise and Don Buchanan, Brian Hanna, Susan Hartung and Jeff Hanna. Grandfather of 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Missed by his friend, companion and caregiver Marion Weltz and his sisters Bernice Bridge and Ruby Gordon. Remembered by many nieces, nephews, Diane Hanna and Bryan Hartung. Predeceased by his parents Wesley and Hazel (Rose) Hanna, his daughter Nancy Anne, sisters Eadie, Marjorie, Margaret, Kathleen, Velma, Joyce and brothers Melvin and Robert. Relatives and friends are invited to share their memories at the Brenneman Funeral Home, 141 John Street, Atwood (519-356-2382), on Saturday July 2, 2016 from 11 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m. Interment in Elma Centre Cemetery, Atwood.
