Marie Schade

June 6, 1922 to September 2, 2018

passed away peacefully at Livingstone Manor, Listowel on Sunday September 2, 2018 at the age of 96. Born June 6, 1922 in Ellice Township, she was the daughter of the late George H. Debus and the former Katherine Buuck. She was predeceased by her husband Norman R. Schade in 1997 whom she married on June 10, 1944. Marie resided in Listowel since 1973 and was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Monkton where she taught Sunday School for a number of years. She was also a volunteer knitter for the Listowel Cradle Club for many years. Beloved mother of Ken and his wife Dorothy (predeceased 2007), Barbara (predeceased 2018) and her husband David Smith, and Brian and his wife Pauline. Devoted and loving grandmother of five grandchildren, April Watson (David), Christa Beyer (Tim), Steven Smith (Stephanie), Matt Schade and Jenn Schade (Craig). Special great-grandma of Sophie and Lily Beyer, Blake and Evan Smith. Dear sister of Doreen Graul and sister-in-law of Ruth Debus. Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, and five godchildren Ann McKenzie, Katherine Priestap, Bonnie Cluett, Rhonda Sutherland and Larry Graul. Predeceased by her brothers Edward and Lorne (in infancy), Norman, Andy and his wife Mabel, sister Edna (in infancy), brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Donald Graul, Georgina and Ken Smith, Irwin and Ferne Schade, June and Glen Hymers. Relatives and friends are invited to share their memories at the Brenneman Funeral Home, 141 John Street, Atwood (519-356-2382), on Tuesday September 4 from 6 to 9 p.m. The funeral service to celebrate Marie’s life will be held at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Monkton on Wednesday September 5, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Pastor Marvin Bublitz officiating. Interment in Redeemer Lutheran Cemetery, Monkton. A special thank you to the nursing staff at Livingstone Manor for the wonderful care given to Mom.
