Lillian Spence

May 24, 1917 to October 6, 2011

Lillian Spence, of Listowel, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Thursday October 6, 2011 at the age of 94. She was a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Bell. Lillian was a member of Trinity United Church, Annan and a former member of Monkton and Balaclava Womens Institute. Beloved wife of the late Alex Spence who predeceased her in 1982. Loving mother of Walt and Terri Spence of Waterloo, Marybelle Dittmer and Howard Bender of RR3 Listowel. Special grandma of Patrick and Erin, Kristina and Jay, Nancy, Ken, Allan, William, Craig and Rebecca and great-grandma of Jaeda, Sienna, Finley, Adelle, Aiden and Cole. Fondly remembered by her brother-in-law Ken Spence of Owen Sound, sisters-in-law Edna Bell of Sydenham Township, Eleanor Spence of Owen Sound and by many nieces & nephews. She was the last surviving member of her family being predeceased by her sister Lizzie and husband Bill Orr, brothers Bruce and wife Bernice, Wallace, Carl and wife Sadie, Norman, and Walter in infancy. Lillian's family invites relatives and friends to share their memories at the Brenneman Funeral Home 141 John Street, Atwood (519-356-2382), on Tuesday October 11, 2011 from 7-9 p.m. A graveside service will be held at Annan Cemetery, Owen Sound on Wednesday October 12, 2011 at 12:00 noon.
