Ida Cleland

January 29, 1915 to May 1, 2018

of Listowel, passed away peacefully at Caressant Care Nursing Home on Tuesday May 1, 2018 at the age of 103. Ida was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church, Listowel, a former member of the Women’s Missionary Society, Maple Leaf Women’s Institute and the Listowel Chapter of Rebekah Lodge. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, crocheting, knitting, loved spending time with her family and enjoyed travelling with her husband Frank. Beloved wife of the late Frank Cleland who predeceased her in 1995. Loving mother of Shirley Nind (Derek), Joan Norman, Maureen Hayward (Stuart) and Jim Cleland. Cherished grandma of 10 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. Fondly remembered by Ken Norman, Dawn Cleland, Brenda Walker, Lois Halpenny and many nieces and nephews. Ida was the last surviving member of her family, being predeceased by her parents Ed and Jane (Duke) Halpenny, brothers and sisters Roy Tughan (Zelma), Clara Danbrook (Charlie), Thelma Smith (Clarence), Richard Tughan, Archie Tughan (Marj) and Clifford Halpenny. Relatives and friends are invited to share their memories at the Brenneman Funeral Home, 141 John Street, Atwood (519-356-2382), on Thursday May 3 from 7 to 9 p.m. where the funeral service to celebrate Ida’s life will be held on Friday May 4, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev.
