Ethel Wood

October 31, 1926 to March 24, 2008

Ethel passed away peacefully at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Monday March 24, 2008. She resided in Listowel and was born 81 years ago in Hibbert Township, a daughter of the late Freeman and Helen (Dalrymple) Mahaffy. Ethel was a member of Trowbridge United Church and a life member of the Listowel West Women's Institute. She enjoyed gardening and the companionship of her cats. Ethel was the beloved wife of the late Ron Wood who predeceased her in 1997. She was the special aunt of Ruby Rennick of Monkton, Roxie Ross of Kingsville and Richard Eickmeyer of Kincardine. Ethel will also be remembered by eight great nieces and nephews, three great-great nieces and nephews, her best friends Charles and Winnifred Mann and their family and Wayne and Kathy Doig. She is the last surviving member of her family being predeceased by two sisters and one brother. Ethel's family invites relatives and friends to share their memories at the Brenneman Funeral Home 141 John Street, Atwood, on Wednesday March 26 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. where the funeral service will be held on Thursday March 27 at 11:00 a.m. with Michelle Owens officiating. Spring interment will be in Elma Centre Cemetery, Atwood.
