Edith Day

April 11, 1913 to July 24, 2011

Edith Day, of St. Marys, formerly of Atwood, passed away peacefully at St. Marys Memorial Hospital on Sunday July 24, 2011 at the age of 98. Edith was a member of Atwood United Church and Atwood U.C.W. She was a life member of the Order of the Eastern Star Listowel Chapter and the Maple Leaf Women's Institute. Edith enjoyed spending time knitting, sewing, making crafts and gardening. Beloved wife of the late Fred Day who predeceased her in 1996. Loving mother of Carolyn and Gerald Douglas of Grand Bend and Connie and Harold Douglas of St. Marys. Special grandma of Julie and Tom Ellis, Scott Douglas, Lori & Lee Wagner, Wendy and Paul Lamond, Jeff and Deanna Douglas and great gramma of Matthew, Nathan, Liam, Olivia, Cecilia, Chelsea, Preston, Chloe, Brennan and Addison. Fondly remembered by her nieces & nephews. Predeceased by her parents James and Annie (Kirkpatrick) Wilford, sister Blanche and her husband Robert Barney, brothers Wray and his wife Gladys, Charles in infancy, and Burton and his wife Ethel. Edith's family invites relatives and friends to share their memories at the Brenneman Funeral Home 141 John Street, Atwood (519-356-2382), on Tuesday July 26, 2011 from 1:00 p.m. until time of the funeral service to celebrate her life at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Michelle Owens officiating. Interment in Donegal Cemetery.
