Dorothy Hamilton

May 28, 1926 to July 5, 2018

of Route 1 Atwood, passed away peacefully at her residence on Thursday July 5, 2018 at the age of 92. Dorothy was a member of Atwood Presbyterian Church and a former member of the Atwood Ladies Aid. She spent many years farming with her husband Don as well as in the real estate business with him. Dorothy was the primary care giver for her mother and mother-in-law for many years. She cherished the time spent with her family. Beloved wife of the late Don Hamilton who predeceased her in 2009. Loving mother of Sharon Vance (Jim), Doug (Lynne), Wayne (Wilma), Barb Cressman (John) and Joe DeBruyn (Dale). Special nanny of Dawn Marie Smith (Jeff), Melissa Vance (Lorne Zweig), Troy Hamilton (Kristie), Tasha Hamilton (Greg McNevan), Kara Cressman, Kyle Cressman (Laura), and Loula Thalassinos (Teresa Purtill). Remembered by her great-grandchildren Sydney Smith (Drew Pegrum), Brooklyn Smith, Payton Smith, Hayden Zweig, Eli Zweig, Nicholas Thalassinos, Camden, Hudson and Alexa McNevan, Erica, Maria, Isabel and Kayley Hamilton, Jensyn, Deklyn, Maisy, Beckett and Garrett Cressman and great great-grandchild Everly Pegrum. Fondly remembered by her sister-in-law Betty Elliott (Bob Wade) and many nieces and nephews. Dorothy was the last surviving member of her family being predeceased by her parents Garrett and Tamar (Armstrong) Blough, her sisters Ruth MacPhail (Jack), Enid Blough, her brother Harold Blough and brother-in-law Bill Elliott. Relatives and friends are invited to share their memories at Atwood Presbyterian Church on Monday July 9, 2018 from 12 noon until 12:45 p.m. followed by the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Ernie Naylor officiating. Interment in Fairview Cemetery, Listowel.
