Donna Johnston

February 15, 1943 to August 29, 2018

of Route 2 Atwood, after a long and courageous battle with cancer, Donna passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Wednesday August 29, 2018 at the age of 75. Donna was a member of Atwood United Church participating in the Sunday School, the church choir and United Church Women. She was a former hairdresser, caterer and was involved with Brownies, Girl Guides and the Sweet Adelines. Donna will be remembered for her wonderful singing voice. Horses were Donna’s passion, and she cherished the time spent with her family and friends. Beloved wife of Clarence Johnston whom she married in 2003. Loving mother of Kelly Castano (Vince), Patty MacPherson (Paul Meaney), Scott (Charlotte). Step-mother of Kevin (Karen), Kim (Mark), Kent (Heather). Nana of Quinn, Abigail, Mackenzie, Leah, Reese, step-nana of Tyler, Jamie, Alex, Kyla, Jaron, Aunika, Lana, Wade and step great-nana of Scarlett and Isla. Sister of Marjorie Tucker and sister-in-law of Mary Fortune. Fondly remembered by the extended Horton and Johnston families. Predeceased by her parents Eldon and Mary (Eadie) Renwick, her first husband Cecil Horton and her brother Walter Renwick. Relatives and friends are invited to share their memories at the Brenneman Funeral Home, 141 John Street, Atwood (519-356-2382), on Friday August 31 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral service to celebrate Donna’s life will be held at the Elma Memorial Community Centre, 251 Main St., Atwood on Saturday September 1, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Colin Snyder officiating. Interment in Elma Centre Cemetery, Atwood.
