Dolores Samis

June 20, 1918 to July 13, 2011

Dolores Samis, of Stratford, formerly of Drayton, passed away peacefully at Spruce Lodge Nursing Home on Wednesday July 13, 2011 at the age of 93. Dolores was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church, Drayton. She was a leader of the 4H Homemaking Club, a former member of the Drayton Horticultural Society and a volunteer and judge for the Drayton Fall Fair. Beloved wife of the late Lomer Samis who predeceased her in 1995. Loving mother of Heather and Bruce Buchanan of Stratford. Special grandma of Shawn and Bianca Buchanan; Shelley and Darryl Berg; Brian and Jennifer Kelley; Cindy Kelley and great grandma of Anika, Caelan, Aaron, Maya, Vanessa, Lauren, Mitchell, Marcus and Damyan. Remembered by son-in-law Robert Kelley, sisters Shirley Johnston and Donna Kidnie and by many nieces & nephews. Predeceased by her parents Ernest and Ella (Barry) Giles, daughter Sharon Kelley and sisters Francis Schleen and Wanda Henry. Dolores' family invites relatives and friends to share their memories in the Spruce Lodge Chapel, 643 West Gore Street, Stratford on Monday July 18th from 9:30 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Jay Jayaraman officiating. Interment in Drayton Cemetery, Drayton.
