Della Hood

August 9, 1929 to August 3, 2018

formerly of Atwood and Listowel, passed away peacefully at Huronlea Home for the Aged, Brussels on Friday August 3, 2018 one week shy of her 89th birthday. Della enjoyed travelling and spending time with her family and friends. Beloved wife of the late Sterling Hood who predeceased her in 1992. Loving mother of Greg Hood (Joanne) and Debra Cockwell (Brian). Special grandma of Laura (Mark), Lisa, Nigel, Jillian and great-grandma of Margaret and William. Dear sister of Sharon Grubb and sister-in-law of Twyla Jacklin. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Joseph and Mae (Conley) Jacklin, brothers Archie (Doris), Lloyd, Glen, and sisters Evelyn Nichol (Weldon), Marjorie Bray (Stan), Myrtle Jacklin and brother-in-law Bob Grubb. Relatives and friends are invited to share their memories at the Brenneman Funeral Home, 141 John Street, Atwood (519-356-2382), on Thursday August 9 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where the memorial service to celebrate Della’s life will be held on Friday August 10, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Colin Snyder officiating. Interment in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Ethel.
