Barry attended Kitchener Collegiate Institute, where he studied carpentry and architecture, skills that served him throughout his life as a master craftsman. He was well known in the community for his many years as a bus driver, carpenter, and owner of the gas station on Main Street in Atwood.
Barry was also a dedicated Boy Scout and Venture leader for decades, faithfully helping with community fundraisers, especially selling Christmas trees each holiday season. He was an avid HO scale train collector and loved sharing his passion for building and creativity with others.
In earlier years, Barry helped design and build one of the first school buses. Before that innovation, he personally drove children to school in his car, ensuring they always had a safe ride.
He loved his family deeply and cherished time spent at the family cottage in Point Clarke, enjoying summers by the lake and snowmobiling in the winter.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff of Huronlea for the exceptional care and compassion shown to Barry during his years there.
