Barry Hamilton

February 5, 1958 to February 6, 2013

Barry Hamilton, of Ottawa, formerly of Listowel and Trowbridge, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday February 6, 2013 one day after his 55th birthday. Barry was a former member of the Listowel Volunteer Firefighters. He was a fan of hockey and baseball taking part as a player, coach and umpire. Barry, known as Coon to his family and friends, enjoyed fishing, barbecuing, cooking and listening to the oldies. Loving father of Brent Hamilton and Rebecca Stiller of Toronto, Jessica Hamilton and Zach Martin of Listowel. Dear brother of Bob Hamilton of Elora, Judy and Bill Dunnell of Trowbridge, Doug Hamilton of Elmira, Marg and Frank Young of Goderich, Gus and Janine Hamilton of Mitchell and David Hamilton of Listowel. Also remembered by Kathy Hoover and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by his parents Jack and Dorothy (Tindall) Hamilton, his brother Clifford in infancy, brother-in-law Bob Mathers and sister-in-law Laurie Hamilton. Visitation will be held at the Elma Memorial Community Centre, Main Street, Atwood, on Sunday February 10, 2013 from 2 to 5 p.m. with the funeral service to celebrate his life to follow at 7:30 p.m. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to a charity of one's choice would be appreciated and can be arranged by calling the funeral home or returning to the Current Funerals page and clicking on the Make A Donation link.
