October 23, 1927 to March 20, 2009 Jack passed away peacefully at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Friday March 20, 2009. He resided at RR#1 Atwood and was born 81 years ago in Elma Township, a son of the late John and Alice (Coghlin) Ballantyne. Jack was a member of Atwood Presbyterian Church where he served on Session and the Board of Managers. He was on the Elma Centre Cemetery Board for over 30 years serving most of those as chairman. Jack also served on the Sire selection committee for the Ayrshire Breeders of Canada. His passion for horses was evident by breeding, raising and racing them for most of his life. Jack was the beloved husband of Jean (Bradshaw) Ballantyne whom he married in 1952; the loving father of John of Listowel, Diane and Doug Buchanan of Fergus; special grandpa of Stacy, Matthew, Ashley, Jeremy and Heather and great-grandpa of Natasha, Griffin and Austin. He will be fondly remembered by his sisters Agnes Harrow and Jean Ballantyne both of Listowel, sister-in-law Ethel McMaster of Listowel, brother-in-law Roy Bradshaw of Monkton, Laura, Tiffany, Dean and many nieces and nephews. She was a member of Monkton United Church and a former member of the Monkton Women's Institute and the Monkton Star of Rebekah Lodge No. 345. She was born 90 years ago in Elma Township, a daughter of the late Alexander and Isobella (Carruthers) Henry. Bernice taught at schools in Maryborough Township and Perth County for over 25 years. She was a member of Atwood Presbyterian Church and a life member of the WMS and Ladies Aid. Beloved wife of Ross Love whom she married in 1948. Loving mother of Hugh and Rhonda Love of RR2 Atwood, Nora and Ross Rocher of Mitchell and Sheila Love-Phillips of Rockwood. Special grandma of Anne & Jason Falk and their children Brett and Gavin, Sara Love and friend Kevin Mehring, Andrew Love, Scott and Lee Anne Rocher and their children Claire and Chloe, Catherine and Jeff Lucyk. Lillian devoted over 25 years as a Girl Guide Leader where she also served as District Commissioner. Beloved wife of the late Frank Illman who predeceased her in 1993. Loving mother of Rose White of Stratford, Fern and Paul Maedel of Thedford, Ross Illman of Stratford, Bob and Barb Illman of Wroxeter, Ted and Judy Illman of Route 1 Monkton, Joyce and John Deslippe of Route 4 St. Marys, Donna Gropp and Clem Davidson of Stratford and Neil Illman of Brussels. He was a volunteer firefighter with the Atwood Fire Department for over 30 years serving as Captain and Deputy Chief. Bob was owner/operator of Bob Robertson Excavating in the Atwood area for over 20 years. Beloved husband of Lois (Barton) Robertson whom he married in 1974. Norma was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Listowel and a member of the Lutheran Church Women. She played the organ for many years at St. Paul's Lutheran, Listowel, Wallace Township and Trinity Lutheran, Fort Erie. Beloved wife of the late Henry Bode who predeceased her in 1999. Loving mother of Rose Lamb of Listowel, Ron and Lillian of Listowel, Bill and Karen of Consecon. Special grandma of Richard and Laura, Susan and Rob, Kim and Jeff, Jason, Craig and Linda and great-grandma of Peter, Tristan, Kurtis and Kristopher. Also remembered by many nieces & nephews. She was the last surviving member of her family, being predeceased by her siblings, Alvin Rose, Verna Rose, Wilmer Rose, Valera Elligson, George Rose and Albert Rose. December 21, 1960 to December 8, 2008 Jim passed away December 8, 2008. He resided in Atwood and was born 47 years ago in Listowel, a son of the late Don and Kay (Gillett) Macpherson. Jim enjoyed snowmobiling, helping coach baseball and time spent playing fetch with his dog Nikki at his cottage on Lake Huron where her memory remains. Jim is survived by Laurie, Ryan and Katrina Macpherson of Listowel and will be fondly remembered by the Mitchell family, his friends, nieces, nephews and cousins. He is also survived by one brother and was predeceased by his sister Cathy Macpherson.
