Spencer farmed most of his life but always found time to enjoy hunting and watching hockey and baseball games. Beloved husband of the late Jessie (Christie) Boyd who predeceased him in 1996. Father of Frank (deceased 2015) and Conny (Cheryl) Boyd.     November 29, 1944 to August 15, 2020 Kathleen Ruth Kennedy – of Atwood, passed away peacefully at Knollcrest Lodge, Milverton on Saturday August 15, 2020 at the age of 75. She was born on November 29, 1944 in Toronto. Kathy worked for Canada Post for many years. She enjoyed camping at Woodland Lake Campground for 35 years, playing the spoons, harmonica and piano. Kathy cherished the time spent with her grandchildren. Beloved wife of Bruce Kennedy whom she married in 1965. Loving mother of Heather Kennedy (Dennis McBride), Sandra Kennedy (Don McCourt) and Nadine Kennedy. Special grandma of Nicole (Joel) Coleman, Morgan Ament, Travis Bowman (Caitlinn Thompson) and Holly Bowman. Sister of Linda Besso, Margaret Wilson (Reiner Mielke), and Jim (Lori) Wilson. Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and camping friends. Predeceased by her parents Howard and Ruth (Johnston) Wilson and her brother Bob Wilson (2020).     July 8, 1932 to August 8, 2020 Hans Troester – of Stratford, formerly of Millbank, passed away peacefully with family by his side at his residence in Hamlet Estates, on Saturday August 8, 2020 at the age of 88. Hans was born in Germany, a cabinet maker by trade immigrating to Canada in 1954. Hans and Irene ran a retail sales business in Millbank from 1964 to 2000. He was a member of Poole Mennonite Church where he served on many of the church committees. Hans was a founding member of Hidden Acres Mennonite Camp. He enjoyed watching the Toronto Blue Jays and Maple Leaf games. Hans loved spending time with his family at the cottage on Conestogo Lake which he and Irene owned for over 50 years. Beloved husband of Irene (Gerber) Troester with whom he recently celebrated 60 years of marriage. Loving father of Peter and his wife Sonya of Milverton and Teresa Troester-Falk of Colorado. Special grandpa of Garrett (Emily), Jordan (Kyle), Kristen (Nolan), Ben and Jesse and great-grandpa of Aubrey, Audrena, Harrison, Nevaeh, Nixon, Kayden and Kaylee.     July 18, 1950 to June 5, 2020 Campbell (Cam) Sanders – of Listowel, formerly of Newry, passed away as a result of a motor vehicle accident on Friday June 5, 2020 at the age of 69. Cam was the proud owner of WSC Transport for over 10 years. He farmed in Elma Township for most of his life, loved horseback riding, played and coached baseball and hockey and was very active in the community. Cam also enjoyed refinishing antique Cockshutt tractors with his friend John. He loved watching his grandchildren playing sports and spending time with his many friends. Beloved husband of Joanne (Barras) Sanders whom he married in 1974. Loving father of Ryan Sanders and Carrie Sanders (Matt Gardner). Papa Cam to his four cherished grandchildren Paige, Tayt, Fischer and Kinleigh. Missed by his brother-in-law Glenn (Susan) Barras, uncle Len Campbell, aunt Marion Wood and aunt Shirley Rea. Fondly remembered by his nephews and nieces Jason (Donna) Markle, Geoffrey Markle, Chris (Marie) Markle, Katie (James) Willey, Lindsay Barras, cousins, his many friends and Jackie Sanders. Winnie had been a very active member of Palmerston Evangelical Missionary Church. She was known for growing hydroponic vegetables and tomatoes at the Newry Coach Lines Depot. Winnie enjoyed quilting baby blankets for hospitals, knitting, crocheting and spending time with her family. Beloved wife of Harold Srigley whom she married in 1947 and together they shared their love of farming for over 30 years. Loving mother of the late Ruth Morris and Darlene (Bruce) Savage. Mother-in-law of Wayne (Valerie) Morris. Special grandma of Pam, Karen, Andy (Stephanie), Ken (Sonya), Randy (Pam) and great-grandma of Reese, Ella, Kate, Jasmine and Jessica. John was a life member of the Atwood Lions Club and received the Melvin Jones Fellowship award in 1993-94. Predeceased by his beloved wife Betty (Seale) Van Sickle whom he married in 1944, his parents Charles and Ethel (Ball) Van Sickle, his sister Eva and her husband Cecil Joubert, his brother Fred and his wife Sarah Alcorn, grandsons Drew and Mark. He was the loving father of Judy Bradley of Burlington, Charles and Nancy of Chesley, Fred and Barbara of Acton and Dave and Chris of Beamsville. Grandpa of Scott and April, Karl, Karen, Brett and Kerry, Tracy and Bill, Jim, Stephanie, Lisa, Curtis and Shannon, Sally and Martin, John and Sarah, Ken and Nicole, Christy and James, Lee and Lisa, Scott and Tash. Betty Lou liked doing crossword puzzles and playing games on the computer. She enjoyed drinking her morning coffee with her “Coffee Cluckers” and had a special friendship with each of them. Betty Lou loved time spent with family and friends, especially the annual trip to the cottage with family. Beloved wife of Ross Rennick whom she married in 1969. After retiring from the farm, John began a career building houses and selling OAA insurance. John was a life member of the Atwood Lions Club having received both the Melvin Jones and Helen Keller awards for his outstanding service to the community for over 45 years. He was instrumental in organizing and running the weekly Thursday night bingo. John participated in the Salvation Army Christmas Kettle campaign and enjoyed helping Iola with quilting and painting saws. John and Iola spent many summers enjoying their trailer at Family Paradise Campground with family and friends. Beloved husband of Iola (Bell) Subject with whom he celebrated 60 years of marriage on August 1, 2019. Loving father of Brenda McKinnon, Harold (Bev) Subject and Kevin (Wendy and family) Subject. Ken was a man who refused to be bound by limitations and will be remembered for his quick wit and sense of humour. In his earlier years, he ran a small engine repair business. Loving father of Scott and his wife Melissa of Tavistock. Special grandpa of Joshua, Kaleb and Aiden. Fondly remembered by his special friend Cheryl Martin and her family, his sister-in-law Diane Albrecht, and his nieces and nephews Bill and Denise Albrecht, Tracie Schneider, Cindy and Jim Hood, Jeff and Elizabeth Albrecht and their families.
