William James Buchanan

William James Buchanan, of Listowel, formerly of Atwood, passed away peacefully at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Tuesday April 28, 2015, three days before his 94th birthday. Jimmie was a member of the former Donegal United Church and a former member of the Canadian Order of Forresters and the Donegal Chapter of the Loyal Orange Lodge. Beloved husband of the late Eva (Stone) Buchanan who predeceased him in 2006. Loving father of Lyle and Barbara of RR1 Atwood and Mary Pat and Brad Smith of Goderich. Special Papa of Bonnie and Alex, Tyler, Curtis and Alysia and Jillian and Mark. Brother of Nina Cummings, Andy Buchanan and friend Marion. Brother-in-law of Shirley Buchanan, Howard (Barb) Darroch and Jessie Buchanan. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Bert and Margaret (Broughton) Buchanan, brothers and sisters Edna and husband Jim Laurie, Olive and husband Laird Cummings, Glen Buchanan, Myrta Darroch, Gladys and husband Ross Scott, Alex Buchanan, infant brothers Ross and Lorenzo and infant sister Emily, sister-in-law Delores Buchanan and brother-in-law Nelson Cummings. Relatives and friends are invited to share their memories at the Elma Memorial Community Centre, Atwood on Friday May 1, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. followed by the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. with Ruth Long officiating. Interment in Donegal Cemetery, Donegal.
