Verna Crawford

December 23, 1921 to January 16, 2010

Verna Crawford passed away peacefully at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Saturday January 16, 2010. She resided at RR1 Monkton and was born 88 years ago in Logan Township, a daughter of the late William and Agnes (Melville) McNaught. Verna was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church, Monkton where she had served as record secretary for over 30 years. She was a former member of the Moncrief Women's Institute and Atwood Senior Citizens. Beloved wife of the late Ken Crawford who predeceased her in 2003. Loving mother of Harvey and Evelyn Crawford of Kitchener, Lloyd and Shirley Crawford of Stratford, Agnes and Joe Udvari of Woodstock, Janet and James Keenleyside-Richter of London, Donald and Beth Crawford of Brussels and mother-in-law of Joe and Dianne Brown of Tillsonburg. Special grandma to 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Dear sister of Ken and his wife Marion McNaught of Mississauga and Agnes Ward of Stratford. Fondly remembered by many nieces & nephews. Predeceased by her daughter Marilyn, grand daughter Lori Hewitt, sisters Janet and her husband Grayson Richmond, Florence and her husband Edwin Drager, brothers Sterling and his wife Bertha McNaught, Melville and his wife Irene McNaught and brother-in-law Clarence Ward. Verna's family invites relatives and friends to share their memories at the Brenneman Funeral Home 141 John Street, Atwood (519-356-2382), on Monday January 18, 2010 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral service to celebrate her life will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church, Monkton on Tuesday January 19, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Theresa McDonald-Lee officiating. Spring interment in North Logan Cemetery.
