Shirley Verstoep passed away peacefully at Ritz Lutheran Villa on Thursday October 23, 2014 at the age of 83. Shirley was a devoted member of the Monkton United Church and a long time member of the Women's Institute. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family. Beloved wife for 59 years of Adrian Verstoep. Loving mother of Marian Hutchinson, Hugh and Pearl Verstoep, Marjorie and David Lindsay, Linda and Ted Groenestege, Barbara Verstoep, Leo Verstoep, Leona and Jeff Donaldson. Missed by her 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Fondly remembered by her sisters-in-law Doris Lamont and Jean Storey, five brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law in the Netherlands and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Hugh and Mary (Burgess) Lamont, brothers Jim, Leonard and Graham, her sister Doreen and her husband George Seip and nephew Terrance Seip. Relatives and friends are invited to share their memories at the Brenneman Funeral Home, 141 John Street, Atwood (519-356-2382), on Sunday October 26 from 2-5 p.m. where the funeral service to celebrate Shirley's life will be held on Monday October 27, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. with Ruth Long officiating. Interment in Brussels Cemetery.
