Rose Smith

March 8, 1929 to February 8, 2022

Rose Smith, formerly of Route 2 Listowel, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, at her residence in Listowel, on Tuesday February 8, 2022 at the age of 92. Rose was born in England and worked as a seamstress and also at the railway office where she met David. After coming to Canada, David and Rose made a life farming. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing, quilting, reading and spending time with her family. Beloved wife of the late David Smith who predeceased her in 1990. Loving mother of Mary Ellen (Harry) Jacklin, Jim (Sandra), Sally (Scott) Andrews, Sandra (Don) Harrison. Cherished grandmother of 10 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 12 great great-grandchildren. Fondly remembered by her brother Harold and his wife Pearl Norman and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Herbert and Mary (Tazzymen) Norman, brothers Tom (Irene), David (Loretta), Herbert “Tommy” (Mae), and sisters Joyce, Marion and Mabel. A private family funeral service by invitation only will be held at the Elma Memorial Community Centre, Atwood on Saturday February 12, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. with Ruth Long officiating. All those attending must provide proof of vaccination. Masks are mandatory and social distancing must be respected. Spring interment in Elma Centre Cemetery, Atwood.
