Ronald McLean – of Monkton, passed away peacefully at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Tuesday June 4, 2019 at the age of 83. Ron was a former fireman for Grey Township for 25 years retiring in 1981. He was a community minded person who was involved in playing and coaching baseball, volunteering on the former Moncrief Hall board and the 1967 Centennial Celebrations committee for Grey Township. Ron enjoyed curling, snowmobiling and the card parties in his shop. Beloved husband of Doris (Hoppenrath) whom he married in 1957. Loving father of Joanne (Greg) Hood and Murray (Tracy) McLean. Special grandpa of Laura (Mark), Lisa (Alex), Danielle (Gary), Elesha (Ryan), Natasha (Brian), and step-grandpa of Jennifer (Dean). Great-grandpa of Maggie, Will, Koryne, Kayson, Myla, Cullen, Max, Tucker and Wyatt. Fondly remembered by his sister-in-law Lois McLean, many nieces, nephews and the Hoppenrath family. Predeceased by his parents Ken and Lily (Harrison) McLean, brothers Scott, Ian (Blanche) and Bruce. In keeping with Ron’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
