Raymond Buchanan,

August 24, 1924 to March 13, 2019

Raymond Buchanan – of Listowel, formerly of Monkton, passed away peacefully at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Wednesday March 13, 2019 at the age of 94. He was a member of the former Monkton United Church. Ray was also a volunteer fireman on the Elma-Logan Fire Department for 20 years and worked for the Department of Highways for 34 years. Beloved husband of Jean (Broughton) Buchanan with whom he shared 68 years of marriage. Loving father of Barry (Cathy), Wayne (Joyce) and Donald (Janet). Special grandpa of Carrie (Shawn), Christine (Gene), Amanda (Zack), Scott (Kim), Melissa (Colin), Brad (Robin), Kyle (Jessie), Ryan (Elesha) and great-grandpa of Denise, Claire, Devin, Cailyn, Hunter, Sophie, Paige, Chelsea, Thomas, Caleb, Rowan, Aubrey, Reid, Chase, Chett, Charlee, Cullen, Max, and Tucker. Dear brother-in-law of Phyllis Buchanan, Margaret Little and Lois (Bob) Boyd-Mueller. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Charles and Janet (Anderson) Buchanan, sister Isabell and husband Howard Acheson, brother Harvey Buchanan, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Ellis Little, Jack Boyd, George and Cora Broughton. Relatives and friends are invited to share their memories at the Brenneman Funeral Home, 141 John Street, Atwood (519-356-2382), on Saturday March 16, 2019 from 12 noon until 1:45 p.m. followed by the funeral service to celebrate Ray’s life at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Brian Hymers officiating. Spring interment in Elma Centre Cemetery, Atwood.
