Peacefully, at Knollcrest Lodge, Milverton, on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, Pearl Ruby Fair of Listowel passed away in her 92nd year.
Beloved wife of the late Russell Edgar Fair (2019). Cherished mother of Joyce (Mel) Fischer.
Dear sister of the late Lyle George (predeceased in infancy), the late Lloyd George, the late Audrey (Ralph) Marling, and the late Evelyn (Herbert) Bishop.
Survived by brothers and sisters in law Irene Smith (the late Elmer), Dorothy Fair (the late Lloyd), Neil (Eleanor) Fair, Helen Lee (the late Jim) all of Brantford and Elva (Malcolm) Hicks of Dundas. She will be miss by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Daughter of the late Lorne (James) George and the late Ruby Hilda (Robinson) George.
Pearl was born in Beverly Township, Wentworth County, and spent many years in the Listowel and Atwood area. She was a dedicated worker in the food industry, including her time at Westinghouse, and also contributed seasonally to the canning industry. Pearl took great pride in her work and was known for her strong work ethic and quiet dedication.
A longtime member of Atwood United Church, Pearl was deeply rooted in her community. She enjoyed simple pleasures, gardening, reading, and her beautiful embroidery work, often creating pillowcases, potholders, and dresser scarves for those she loved. She also spent time caretaking at Elma School and assisting in the school library, always happy to lend a hand where needed.
Family and friends will be received at Brenneman Funeral Home, Atwood, for visitation on Sunday April 19th 2026 from 2-5 PM. Pearl’s life will be celebrated the next day, April 20th 2026 at the funeral home at 11 AM.
Interment will take place at Elma Centre Cemetery.
