Lillian Illman

August 3, 1923 to February 12, 2009

Lillian passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, at Mitchell Nursing Home on Thursday February 12, 2009. She was formerly of Monkton and was born 85 years ago in Minto Township, a daughter of the late Ben and Constance (Ranger) Diamond. Lillian devoted over 25 years as a Girl Guide Leader where she also served as District Commissioner. Beloved wife of the late Frank Illman who predeceased her in 1993. Loving mother of Rose White of Stratford, Fern and Paul Maedel of Thedford, Ross Illman of Stratford, Bob and Barb Illman of Wroxeter, Ted and Judy Illman of Route 1 Monkton, Joyce and John Deslippe of Route 4 St. Marys, Donna Gropp and Clem Davidson of Stratford and Neil Illman of Brussels. Special grandmother of 19 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. Cherished mother-in-law of Tony Peachey of Brussels. Fondly remembered by her brothers Norman Diamond of Guelph, Jack and Shirley Diamond of B.C., her sister Lorna Diamond of Elora, sister-in-law Mona Diamond of Fenelon Falls and by many nieces & nephews. Predeceased by her daughter Lillie Peachey, son Douglas, son-in-law Bob Gropp, granddaughter Tabitha, brother Harry Diamond, sister Kathleen and her husband Teofoil Buchnea and sister-in-law Betty Diamond. Lillian's family invites relatives and friends to share their memories at the Brenneman Funeral Home 141 John Street, Atwood (519-356-2382), on Saturday February 14, 2009 from 2-4 p.m. and Sunday February 15 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. where the funeral service to celebrate her life will be held on Monday February 16, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Ralph VanOostveen officiating. Spring interment in Elma Centre Cemetery, Atwood.
