John Nafziger – of Newton, passed away unexpectedly at home on Monday January 4, 2021 at the age of 86. John was a member of the former Riverdale Mennonite Church and had been attending Milverton Christian Fellowship. He was an auction and garage sale enthusiast, loved to watch motor sports and racing and spending time with his family.
Beloved husband of the late Barbara Nafziger who predeceased him in 2017. Loving father of Connie (Steve) Cassel, Debbie (predeceased 2017) (Doug) Purcell, Frances (Joe) Royal, Paul (Jen) and Calvin (Heidi). Special grandpa of Shane, Dean (Erin), Cory (Melissa), Natashia (Mike), Devin (Tessa), Sabrina (James), Jordan, Michael, Samantha (Drew), Jessica (Justin), Rachel and great-grandpa of Payton, Cheyenne, Trevor, Caroline, Caitlyn, Makayla, Dakota, Brielle, Jack, Ruby, Grace, Ella, Locke, Linkin, Lenore, and Addyson. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Edna Tigani, Robert (Rose) Nafziger, Jake (Sharon) Nafziger, Donald Nafziger (Hendrick), Bill (Judy) Nafziger, Marlene Herrfort, and Bernice Herrfort. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his parents Aaron and Elizabeth (Golitis) Nafziger and his brother Joseph Nafziger.
In keeping with John’s wishes, cremation will take place. A family graveside service will occur in the spring in Riverdale Mennonite Cemetery, Millbank.
