Irene Wilson

April 24, 1934 to March 10, 2019

Irene Wilson – of Listowel, formerly of Atwood, passed away unexpectedly at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Sunday March 10, 2019 at the age of 84. Irene was a member of Atwood United Church where she had sung in the church choir. She was also a member of the United Church Women and the Atwood Quilting Club. Irene enjoyed helping to cater many meals in the Atwood area. She cherished the time spent with her family. Beloved wife of the late George Wilson who predeceased her in 2011. Loving mother of Susan (2018) and Doug Laidlaw, Barb and Lyle Buchanan. Special grandma of Andrew (Sandra Archer), Melissa (Thomas) Bijman, Ryan, Bonnie (Alex) Coulter, Tyler and great grandma of Brooklyn, Autumn and Abigail. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Elma and Adrian Konings and Doris McNeilly. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents David and Ada (Kitchen) McNeilly, sister Ferne Wilson and husband Elwood, and brother Bill McNeilly. Relatives and friends are invited to share their memories at the Brenneman Funeral Home, 141 John Street, Atwood (519-356-2382), on Tuesday March 12 from 5-8 p.m. where the funeral service to celebrate Irene’s life will be held on Wednesday March 13, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Brian Hymers officiating. Spring interment in Elma Centre Cemetery, Atwood.
