Helen Subject

May 24, 1943 to June 9, 2014

Helen Subject of Atwood passed away after a brief struggle with cancer at Listowel Memorial Hospital with family by her side, on Monday June 9, 2014 at the age of 71. Helen was employed for over 20 years with Campbell Soups, Listowel. She enjoyed visiting the casinos, playing bingo and Pick 3 tickets and watching game shows on television. Helen was very proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Beloved partner of the late Gerald (Blinky) Hiusser who predeceased her in 2009. Loving mother of Joanne Broughton, Calvin Subject and Shelly Lockie, Kim and Steve Smith, Steven and Christina Subject. Special grandma of Cory and Michelle and their children Logan and Maddison, Chad and Kelly and their son Cole, Daniel, Kelsey, Stephanie and Riaz, Stacey, Nick, Owen and Morgan. Dear sister of Albert Stevens, Marie Marsh, Clifford and Sheila Stevens, Kenny Stevens, Betty Anne and Cecil McClory. Fondly remembered by her sister-in-law Grace Stevens, special friends Pat and Pete Theodorff, the extended Stevens, Hiusser and Subject families. Predeceased by her parents Lorne and Alice (Locking) Stevens, son-in-law Bob Broughton, daughter-in-law Sandee Subject, sister Marlene and her husband Robert Johnston and sister-in-law Betty Kay Stevens. Relatives and friends are invited to share their memories at the Brenneman Funeral Home, 141 John Street, Atwood (519-356-2382), on Thursday June 12 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service to celebrate Helen's life will be held at Atwood Presbyterian Church on Friday June 13, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Andrew Thompson officiating. Interment in Elma Centre Cemetery, Atwood.
