Florence Margaret Holmes, passed away peacefully at her residence in Caressant Care Nursing Home, Listowel, on Friday June 29, 2012 in her 102nd year. Florence was a life member of the Listowel West Branch Women's Institute and enjoyed playing cards and cooking. Beloved wife of the late J. Cecil Holmes who predeceased her on August 2, 2002. Loving mother of Sharon and husband Murray Chapman of RR4 Listowel and Doug and wife Julie Holmes of Paris. Special grandma of Steve and Holly Chapman of Elmira, Mike and Carolyn Chapman of Listowel, Jason and Diane Holmes, and Jeff and Nikki Holmes all of Paris and great-grandma of Hunter, Jensen, Emily and Megan Chapman, Bernadette, James, Lauren, Ashley and Trent Holmes. Dear sister of Laura Johns of Listowel, Dorothy Hawkins and Grayce and Pete Mowry all of Richmond Hill. Fondly remembered by many nieces & nephews. Predeceased by her parents Ephriam and Margaret (Dick) Gildner, her brother Graham Gildner and his wife Margaret, brothers-in-law Hilton (Shorty) Johns and Bill Hawkins, and sisters-in-law Agnes Holmes and Bessie Holmes Greer. Florence's family invites relatives and friends to share their memories at the Brenneman Funeral Home, 141 John Street, Atwood (519-356-2382), on Monday July 2nd from 7 to 9 p.m. Visitation will continue at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Listowel on Tuesday July 3rd, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m.with Rev. Ralph Dwarika officiating. Interment in Fairview Cemetery, Listowel.
