Douglas Hamilton

December 2,1950- August 21, 2025

Passed away peacefully after a brief battle with cancer on August 21, 2025 at Listowel Memorial Hospital.

Beloved father of Sarah Smith, Nichole (Dale) Jamieson, Adam (Tammy) Hamilton, William (Kayla) Hamilton and Emma (Stewart) Yates. Cherished Grandpa of Pearson (Ashley) Smith, Mackenzie (Bryce) Hamilton, Victoria (Evan) Ducharme, Shelby (Scott) Robbins, Madison Hinschberger, Lucas (Megan) Jamieson, Abigail Jamieson (Logan Miller), Neve Jamieson, Dalton Hamilton, Owen (Kelsey) Hamilton, Reece Hamilton, Broderick Hamilton, Wrenn Hamilton and Winston Yates and Great Grandpa of Wilson Ducharme, Clara Ducharme, Alice Hamilton and Lucy Hamilton. Loving pet parent of Sheldon the cat. 

Survived by Judy Dunnell, Margaret (Frank) Young and Gus (Janine) Hamilton.

Predeceased by his parents Jack and Dorothy Hamilton of Trowbridge and brothers Robert Hamilton, Cliff Hamilton, Barry Hamilton and David Hamilton.

A proud resident of Trowbridge for many years, Doug began his family there, before completing it in Atwood. Above all his children and family were his pride and joy.   He was a hard working man and a dedicated employee of Home Hardware for 40 years.  

Doug was a man who enjoyed the simple pleasures of life.  An avid sports fan all his life, he held a true dedication to the Toronto Maple Leafs.  Nothing brought him more comfort than time with family - and perhaps a warm Labatt Blue.Doug will be missed by many. 

Visitation will be held at Elma Memorial Community Centre on Friday August 29, 2025 from 10AM until the words of remembrance at Noon.  Interment will take place at Elma Centre Cemetery for immediate family only. Following Interment a Celebration of Life will be held at Elma Memorial Community Centre.  Memorial donations may be made to Wounded Warriors Canada.
