Douglas Allin – of Kitchener, formerly of Atwood, was welcomed home by his Lord and Saviour on Wednesday July 14, 2021 at the age of 62. Doug was employed with the Region of Waterloo as a Grand River Transit Operator for the past 18 years. He was a handyman that could fix anything and took great pride in looking after his weed free lawn. He was skilled at woodworking having refurbished 10 park/garden benches in 2020 and worked with live edge maple to make a “Welcome” sign, tables and benches.
Beloved husband of Sheila (McDowell) Allin whom he married in 1982. Loving father of Craig and Eliana of Bonshaw PEI and Laura Beth and David Crawford of Princeton. Special grandpa of Ezra and Esmeralda. Dear son of Jeanne and the late Murray Allin. Brother of Larry and Beth, Glenn and Deb. Fondly remembered by nieces, nephews, Uncle Alan, Aunt Marie and cousins.
Visitation will be held at Country Hills Evangelical Missionary Church, 1280 Ottawa Street South, Kitchener on Sunday July 18, 2021 from 2-4 p.m. Masks will be required and social distancing will be monitored. A private service to celebrate Doug’s life will be held at Country Hills Church on Monday July 19, 2021 with Pastor Jeremy Shuart officiating. Interment in Elma Centre Cemetery, Atwood.
As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to Country Hills Church, Grace Christian School, Diabetes Canada or Grand River Regional Cancer Centre appreciated by the family.
