It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Diane Hahn, who died peacefully at home on October 1, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.
Beloved wife of 52 years to Bruce Hahn. Loving mother of Darrick (Jane Barkley) Hahn, Bill (Jenn) Hahn, Pam (Trevor) Brame, Charlene Hahn, Adam (Megan) Hahn, Christopher Smith and the late Melissa Hahn (2017). Cherished grandmother of Noah, Mila, Eadie, Owen, James, Danny, Kaden, Ashlyn and CJ. Survived by her brother Rick (Terri) Metzger. Predeceased by her parents Albert and Dorothy Metzger and step-father Stan Foell.
Diane was born and raised in Glen Allan, where she established lifelong friendships referred to as “The Gang.” Diane met Bruce in Glen Allan, and together they began their life as a couple, settling in Perth County in 1973. Diane embraced life on the Hahnderosa and became involved with her family, local activities, and various causes. She was a devoted mother of seven, raising her children with patience, strength, and love. Diane advocated tirelessly for her firstborn, Melissa, who had intellectual and physical disabilities. She and Bruce adapted to Melissa’s needs, overcoming challenges together and creating lasting memories. Her example taught all her children unconditional love, courage, and dedication.
Diane devoted her career to community service and building connections at both local and international levels. She held significant roles in numerous organizations, co-founded the G.I.R.L.S. Club, and made substantial contributions to local government and community initiatives through leadership, program organization, and fundraising efforts. Throughout her professional and volunteer work, Diane supported children, families, and international students, welcoming many exchange students into her home. Together with Bruce, she served as a foster parent and provided guidance through parent support groups and motivational speaking, positively impacting a wide array of individuals with her commitment.
Diane will be remembered most for her warmth, resilience, and ability to find positivity in every circumstance. She touched many lives with her generosity, laughter, and dedication to community. Her legacy lives on in her children, grandchildren, the students she hosted, and the countless people she inspired.
We want to express our heartfelt thanks to Adrianna, the resource nurse from the Listowel medical clinic and the Care Partners’ visiting nursing team, as well as all those who supported her throughout her cancer treatments and ongoing care.
