Bill Ropp

May 2, 1940- July 13, 2025

William (Bill) Ropp of Gorrie (originally of Atwood) died July 13, 2025, at the Wingham and District Hospital at the age of 85. Predeceased by his wife Lynne Ropp (McCreight), his son-in-law Chad Reis and sister Ruth. Loving father of Deena Reis-Binne (Scott) of Kelowna, BC and Brady Ropp (Stephanie) of Gorrie, Ontario. Proud papa to Anabelle Ropp, Oliver Ropp, and Libby Reis.

Fondly remembered by Edith Schalk, Fred and Verna Ropp, Margie Bates, Doug and Valerie Ropp and many nieces and nephews.

Bill was kind, friendly, and always up for a good chat. He was the family historian and could remember details like no one else. He was happiest with a good book, a cup of tea, and his family around him. A good ice cream would also never be turned down.

Bill fought cancer for 15 years, and his strength and ability to keep going astounded everyone. Never one to complain, he quietly fought, loved a good laugh, and enjoyed life until the very end.

We hope heaven is full of dogs, all the tractors are John Deere, and that Mom is there asking for a Coke—to which you’ll sigh deeply, roll your eyes, and get her one anyway. You will be forever missed, Dad.
