Beryl Semple

February 15, 1940 to July 5, 2015

Beryl Semple formerly of RR1 Atwood, passed away peacefully at her residence in Listowel surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with ALS on Sunday July 5, 2015 at the age of 75. Beryl was a faithful member of Knox Presbyterian Church, Listowel where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday School for many years. She was Past President of Knox Presbyterian W.M.S., volunteered at Youth for Christ in Listowel and was an active member of the Retired Women Teachers Association of Ontario. After her retirement, she tutored children with learning disabilities and those who struggled with reading, writing and arithmetic. Beryl loved spending time with her family, especially her two grandchildren. Beloved wife of John Semple with whom she would have celebrated 55 years of marriage with on July 30. Loving mother of Karyn (Brad) French, and Brad Semple. Special grandma of Emma and Josh French. Fondly remembered by her nephew Greg and his wife Shannon Byermann and their children Courtney and John. Predeceased by her parents Ken and Ialeen (Stimore) McFarlane and her sister Doreen and husband Melvin (Bob) Byermann. Relatives and friends are invited to share their memories at the Brenneman Funeral Home, 141 John Street, Atwood (519-356-2382), on Tuesday July 7 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral service to celebrate Beryl's life will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church, Listowel on Wednesday July 8, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Don McCallum officiating. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery, Milverton.
