Alexander (Alex) Hammond

July 3, 1922 to April 16, 2009

Alex passed away peacefully at his residence in Caressant Care Nursing Home, Listowel on Thursday April 16, 2009 in his 87th year. He was formerly of RR#1 West Monkton where he enjoyed raising Limousin beef cattle. Alex's favourite pastime was attending and filming parades, fairs and other community events. Dear brother of Marie and Ross Stephenson of Ethel. Loving uncle of Donna and Robert Mitchell of Dublin, Jim and Kathy Stephenson of Ethel, Jean and Murray Whytock of Teeswater, Les and Susan Stephenson of Ethel. Fondly remembered by 13 great nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Stanley and Laura (Speiran) Hammond and his brother Ken (1996). Alex's family invites relatives and friends to share their memories at the Brenneman Funeral Home 141 John Street, Atwood (519-356-2382), on Saturday April 18, 2009 from 7-9 p.m. where the funeral service to celebrate his life will be held on Sunday April 19, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Alex McGilvery officiating. Interment in Elma Centre Cemetery, Atwood.
