May 1, 1925 -September 14, 2021 Harold Srigley, formerly of Atwood, passed away peacefully at Caressant Care Nursing Home, Listowel on Tuesday September 14, 2021 at the age of 96. Harold had been a very active member of Palmerston Evangelical Missionary Church, a former member of The Gideons and Full Gospel Businessmen. Harold and Winnie shared their love of farming for over 30 years. He was co-owner of Newry Coach Lines where he was an active bus driver. In later years, he drove the Sunshine Van for VON and also was the driver for many in the Amish community. Beloved husband of the late Winnie (Shoemaker) Srigley who predeceased him in 2020. Loving father of the late Ruth Morris and Darlene (Bruce) Savage. Father-in-law of Wayne (Valerie) Morris. Special grandpa of Pam, Karen, Andy (Stephanie), Ken (Sonya), Randy (Pam) and great-grandpa of Reese, Ella, Kate, Jasmine and Jessica. Dear brother of Ruby Gray, Joy Hamilton and Bruce (Myrna) Srigley. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Melvin and Bertha (Fretz) Srigley, brother Orland and Elaine Srigley, brothers-in-law Doug Gray, John Hamilton and sister-in-law Donna Srigley. Visitation will be held at Palmerston Evangelical Missionary Church, 550 Prospect Street, Palmerston on Saturday September 18, 2021 from 10:30 a.m. until 12 noon followed by the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Philip DesJardine officiating. Interment in Maple Grove Cemetery, Fordwich. Masks are required and social distancing must be respected. October 12, 1928 -November 4, 2021 David Rose of Atwood, passed away peacefully at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Thursday November 4, 2021 at the age of 93. David enjoyed buying and selling cars and going on car tours with his friends. During his lifetime, he owned over 50 cars. He also enjoyed racing the “Green Hornet” in stock car races. David loved antiques and will be remembered as an amazing father who instilled good values in all of his family. Beloved husband of the late Eileen (Chapman) Rose and the late Lillian (Shaw)(Stymeist) Rose. Loving father of Doug Rose (Susan Hanna) (Anita), Diane (Rick) Gilbert, Greg Rose and step-father of Jim Stymeist. Special grandfather of Jenna Rose-Freeman (Jonathan), Cal Rose, Jeff Gilbert (Annie), Julie Gilbert (Mike Mellish), Nicholas Rose and step-grandfather of Ashley, Bradley and Joey Stymeist. Great grandfather of Britton Gilbert, Camryn Gilbert, Grayson Gilbert and Hudson Mellish. Dear brother of Raymond Rose (Allison). Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and the extended Chapman family. Predeceased by his parents Stanley and Florence (Blore) Rose and brothers Ed Rose (Berdeana) and Don Rose (Margaret). In keeping with David’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or service. Interment in Christ Church Anglican Cemetery, Woodbridge. Father of John Bartsch, Anna (Dave) Harms, Klass Bartsch, Tina (Bill) Unger, Margaret (Jake) Thiessen, Jake Bartsch, Lena (Glen) Ford, Lisa (George) Boese, Pete Bartsch and Willy Bartsch (Jess). Cherished brother of Henry Bartsch, Anna Bartsch and the late John Bartsch, Helen Wall, Elizabeth Penner, Wilhelm Bartsch and Peter Bartsch. Predeceased by his parents John and Anna Bartsch. He will be missed by his 25 grandchildren and their spouses, 6 great grandchildren, many nieces, and nephews. February 7, 1955 to May 1, 2022 Harold William Carter – It is with broken hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Harold at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Sunday May 1, 2022 at the age of 67 after a courageous journey with cancer. Harold had a great sense of humour, positive outlook on life and loved driving his 1970 Dodge Challenger. He enjoyed watching the Detroit Red Wings, the Toronto Blue Jays, snowmobiling and playing church hockey and baseball. He looked forward to his morning coffee hour group and northern fishing trips. Harold especially cherished all the time spent with his family and friends. Beloved husband of Cheryl (Buehler) Carter whom he married in 1980. Loving father of Janel (Rodney) Hiemstra, Tracy (Tyler) Andrews and Jeremy (Katie) Carter. Special grandpa of Noah and Jensyn Hiemstra, Mylah, Kennedy and Sawyer Andrews. Cherished brother and brother-in-law of Mary Carter, Alvin (Kara) Carter, Darrell (Jane) Buehler, Derrick (Karen) Buehler, Duane (Sue) Buehler, Angie (Paul) Raftis and Lisa Buehler. Cherished grandfather of Bryce Hamilton (Mackenzie Smith), Laci Hamilton, Cody Davidson (Amanda Diehl), Jadyn Davidson and Harley Davidson. Proud great grandfather to Jackson Davidson. Survived by his brother Bruce (Anna), Sister in law Myke Hamilton, Wanda Bridge, Anne (Darrell) Abbot and Frances (David) Long. Predeceased by his twin brother Donald Hamilton, brother in law Roy Bridge, Lloyd and Donna Turney and Allan and Karen Crowe. Ron would be often seen sitting at Ralph’s enjoying a coffee and driving through Atwood. Memorial service will be held at Atwood Presbyterian Church on Thursday January 12, 2023 at 11 AM. August 13, 1965 to September 15, 2022 Passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family on Thursday September 15, 2022 at the age of 57 after a courageous battle with cancer. Beloved husband and best friend of 33 years to Charlene Hamilton (Golightly). Proud dad of Jesse Hamilton (Paula). Bill fought hard and was honoured to meet his newborn grandson Rhett William. Also special step-grandpa to Keeton and Ryland. Survived by his father Al (Grace) Hamilton. Predeceased by his mother Luella Hamilton (nee Potts). Favorite son-in-law of Bonnie (the late Wayne) Golightly. Cherished brother of Brad (Brigette) Hamilton, Patty (Craig) Zurbrigg, his brother-in-laws Cy Golightly (Cheryl) and Dennis (Kathy) Golightly. He will be missed by many special aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, special pals and many, many friends. Bill was a proud owner of Hanna & Hamilton Construction Co, a locally owned family business since 1956. When Bill wasn’t in the office bidding a job, or out operating heavy equipment his favorite things in life included riding his Harley, snowmobiling, tinkering in his shed, playing guitar and spending time with friends and family. Bill’s wishes were to have a celebration of life. The celebration will take place on October 15, 2022, at the Elma Memorial Community Centre in Atwood from 1-4 PM with words of remembrance and a toast to Bill at 2:30 PM. September 10, 1940 to August 27, 2022 Marjorie Hoshel of Route 1 Atwood, passed away unexpectedly at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Saturday August 27, 2022 at the age of 81. Marjorie was a member of Atwood United Church and the former Donegal United Church. Marjorie and Ken were married in Vandorf, Ontario October 16 1965. In 1974 they moved to Elma Township and purchased two farms with Ken’s brother Don and his wife Carolyn. Marjorie was an active member in her community. She was a member of the Federated Women’s Institute of Ontario, a 4H Leader, a member of the Donegal UCW and the Donegal Friendship Circle Beloved wife of the late Kenneth Hoshel whom she married in 1965. Loving mother of Steven Hoshel, Andy Hoshel (Stephanie Pedersen), Cathy Hoshel and special grandmother of Adam. Remembered by siblings John (Irene) Smith, Gwen (the late Ron) Pottage, Barbara (Vincent) Dawson and sister-in-law Helen Smith and Carolyn Hoshel. Predeceased by her parents Vernon and Reta Smith and her siblings Ruby Petrie, Greta Chapman, Lawrence Smith, Marion Clark, brother-in-law Don Hoshel. Dan will be missed by his beloved wife Kathleen Carter (Zehr). Loving father of Jason (Bonnie) Carter, Dennis (Michele) Carter and Teresa (Nathan) Morwood. Cherished grandfather of Ben, Emily, Grayson, Calla, Oliver and Morgan. Brother of John Carter, David (Delphine) Carter, Ruth Ann Carter and the late James Carter. Brother-in-law to Joanne (Donald) Matthews, Sandra (the late Garry) Zehr, Jim (Janet) Zehr, Doug (Miriam) Zehr, Fred (Cheryl) Zehr. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Dan was a dairy farmer for 30 years. He enjoyed snowmobiling, puttering around the shop fixing a multitude of things and his yearly maple syrup production on the farm. Gerry was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved hanging out with his niece and nephews showing them how to hunt and fish or just spending quality time with them.
