History

The Peebles family operating under the name of J.A. Peebles & Sons Funeral Home began the business on Atwood's Main Street in 1934. Johnston Peebles served the community by supplying funeral services as well as operating a furniture store. In those early years viewing and funeral services took place in the family homes.

In 1950 the Peebles family moved to its present location at 141 John Street to provide a separate location for visitation and services. After Johnston Peebles retired, the business continued under the direction of his sons Jack and Bill, and since 1977 by Jack and his wife Margaret. An addition to the funeral home was added in 1980.

In 2004 Jim & Judy Brenneman took control as the owners/operators of Peebles Funeral Home Ltd. A renovation/addition in 2006 has given the funeral home a more modern look and peaceful feeling. Our facilities are now fully accessible for public visitation and services.

In 2007, the name of the funeral home was officially changed to Brenneman Funeral Home Ltd. to better identify those who are now providing the professional and compassionate service for the community of North Perth.
